Clemson Football Weekends

Home game weekends bring a wave of RVs into Clemson, and the parking rules don't bend for a breakdown. Reserved lots have set move-in times and vehicles have to clear out after the game. A dead generator or a failed AC on Friday needs fixing before you roll in, not in the lot.

  • Generator noise limits. IPTAY's tailgating policy has capped portable generators at 70 decibels. Check the current policy before you go. A generator running rough or surging is louder than it should be. See generator service.
  • Early-season heat. September games are hot, and a rooftop AC working hard on generator power shows every weak capacitor. See RV AC repair.
  • Book early in the week. Call Monday or Tuesday before a home game so there's time to get parts if needed.

Lake Living and Seasonal Parks

Lake Keowee has a mix of county parks, private RV parks, and seasonal sites. Rigs that sit at a seasonal site for months tend to come back with dead batteries, stale generator fuel, and roof sealant that needs attention. A spring check before the first long weekend catches most of it.

Rigs that stay on site through winter should be winterized. Walhalla and the higher ground toward the mountains freeze earlier than Seneca.
