Brakes, hubs, lighting
Electric brake adjustment, hub repacking, wheel bearings, and trailer lighting. These carry live animals, so they matter more than on a camper.
Why LQs Fail
Problems Specific to Horse Trailers
Living quarters trailers tend to sit between shows, then work hard for a long weekend. That pattern causes problems campers don't see as often:
- Batteries drained flat between shows
- Generators that won't start after sitting with old fuel
- Mice in the wiring and insulation when the trailer is parked near feed and hay
- Frozen water lines when the trailer is parked at the barn over winter. See winterization.
- Brakes and bearings worn from hauling heavy loads

At the Barn or the Show Grounds
T. Ed Garrison Livestock Arena in Pendleton is about 20 minutes from our base. It has 440 permanent stalls and 70 full-service RV sites, so a lot of LQ trailers park there on show weekends. If something fails at a show, or you want it checked before you go, call us. Shawn also comes to farms and barns across the Upstate and Northeast Georgia.
